July 2022 Monthly Favourites

This month I’ve started a digital journal, I’ve never done one before and I don’t know if I’ll stick with it, but I had fun creating my July favourites. I thought it’d be cool to keep a record of the things I liked the most each month.

I want to find time to create multiple monthly journal pages and post the best ones here. Sitting down with a podcast while going through all the things I’ve loved this month and creating this collage has been very relaxing. July has been a very stressful month but starting a digital journal has become a great distraction.

In July, Sabrina Carpenter’s new album, “emails I can’t send“, came out and I’ve been obsessed with it. I haven’t been able to listen to anything else. My favourite songs are “Vicious” and “because I liked a boy“.

This month I also bought the recently published Gilmore Girls, The Official Cookbook, and it’s the best cooking book ever. It’s full of amazing recipes from the show. The ones based on Sookie’s cooking and Friday dinners are more complicated, but most recipes are generally simple and very varied. There are drink how-tos like The Rory and Emily’s Bloody Mary, desserts like Dessert Sushi and healthy meals like Mrs Kim’s Eggless Egg Salad Sandwiches.

I’m in love with this book, I think it’s a must-have for any Gilmore fan who loves food.

I grew up with 2000s romcoms and I love re-watching them years later to see if they’re still as good as I remember them. He’s just not that into you is still great, a bit corny but still fun.

The second season of Only Murders in the Building also came out this month, and so far, I love it. I love the comedy of the show and all the characters, Mabel is my favourite, of course.

My city is full of independent shops that sell vintage clothes and cool accesories. I found this Steven Rhodes tote bag and it’s the best! I love his art and I love cats, so I obviously had to get this Portal to the Cat Dimension bag.

Mean Book Club is the perfect podcast for mainstream book haters like me. They read and discuss bestselling books that really shouldn’t be because they’re so bad. Their new season came out recently. They post a new episode every two weeks.

I’m glad I’ve started a digital journal, it keeps me distracted, and it satisfies my Virgo brain that likes to constantly organise things until they make sense.
