A small winter cross-stitch

I’ve been in a kind of craft slump. After my failed first attempt at knitting a scarf, I was incapable of crafting anything at all until I bought this old Craftpod kit on Etsy. I thought an easy, fast project like this cute winter cross-stitch would help me get out of my crafter’s block. And it did; it even gave me enough motivation to try to knit a new scarf. I have the wool skeins starting at me as I write this. … More A small winter cross-stitch

November 2021 Book Wrap Up

I wrote a post about how I’ve been feeling weird this November, experiencing some symptoms of SAD for the first time. That has influenced the amount and the type of books I read this month. I couldn’t focus on a book, Practical Magic took me weeks to finish, which is weird because I enjoyed the story, I just couldn’t be bothered to pick up my kindle. Then came Eleanor Oliphant, which broke me into tiny pieces as I could see my social awkwardness painfully reflected in the book. I tried to fix that with The Comfort Book, followed by In Conclusion, Don’t Worry About It. But they weren’t much help, and my brain wasn’t in the right headspace for positive, hopeful essays. … More November 2021 Book Wrap Up

Spooky books to read in autumn

Autumn is my favourite season, and one thing I love besides the cold weather and the turn of leaves, is autumn books. These are books either set in autumn, have spooky and witchy vibes or both. I wanted to include a combination of books I’ve read and loved, with books on my to-read list. I mainly chose newish books, from the last five years or so, with a few exceptions. I’m obviously missing a lot of good books, but these are the ones I want to read this season. … More Spooky books to read in autumn

September 2021 Book Wrap Up

September was a great month. I went back to Spain to visit my family, ate a lot of good food and came back depressed to find out the weather in England was still too warm for my liking. As this month includes the end of summer and the beginning of autumn, I read a mixture of summer and autumn books. Back in Spain, I felt like rereading the romance trilogy of The Summer I turned Pretty by Jenny Han, but in England, I wanted nothing more than to read a book that screams dark academia like A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik. … More September 2021 Book Wrap Up

Autumn bucket list

Isn’t it crazy that it’s already late September? Autumn’s just started, I’m back in England, and I already have my autumn clothes out. But it feels like the weather hasn’t caught up with the season yet. The air in my town is still warm, most trees are still green, and there are no pumpkins in sight. Every time I look out the window and see someone wearing shorts, I get so frustrated. Where is my autumn? … More Autumn bucket list

Late summer diaries: Two weeks in Spain

I’m writing this post from my parent’s garden in Spain. It’s way too sunny and hot even though there was a big storm just five minutes ago, but that’s Spain in September. I grew up on a small Mediterranean island, where summers are too long, and winters are just mildly cold. I usually come back once a year to show my family I’m still alive. … More Late summer diaries: Two weeks in Spain
